Call our office as soon as possible if you break or loosen any of your appliances. Our staff

can provide advice as to the urgency of a repair appointment. In addition, by calling us we

can schedule the adequate time required to make the appropriate repair. Even if you have a

regular appointment scheduled, we kindly request that you notify us immediately if you need

an appliance repaired

suggestions to aid in alleviating immediate discomfort.

In the event that discomfort

cannot be

alleviated, please contact

the

emergency pager, 707.491.7272.

In Case of Emergency

If you have a loose bracket or band, please call our office as soon as possible. In the event

you

are unable to contact or see us immediately (such as over the weekend, holiday or while

out of

town), you may clip the archwire and/or slide the bracket off the archwire.

To clip the archwire, wash and sterilize a pair of fingernail clippers with water and alcohol.

Then

call our office to schedule a repair appointment on the next available business day.

Loose Brackets
or Bands

Wire irritations can be immediately resolved using a small amount of wax covering the area.

the wire is extremely painful, you can clip the archwire with it with nail clippers or scissors

that

have been washed and sterilized in alcohol. If the poking wire persists, call our

office.

Losing a separator is not an immediate emergency, but call our office to see whether it

needs to

be replaced.
